We have siding, people!

Back of house with siding Posted by Picasa

Yes, the siding and house wrap finished up this week. They must've started and finished in 3 days because we were up earlier in the week. Hopefully next week will be stucco and stone (maybe even drywall)!

We caught up to the house that's supposed to be just ahead of us, so we're hoping things will pick up.

Send in the reinforcements!

More Lumber Posted by Picasa

Apparently, they are reinforcing the structure as there is a lot of extra wood in our garage suddenly. There was also some sawdust in the house and I noticed some new beams nailed in.

They are also sealing the outside of the house. The house that is one step ahead of ours (in theory) is starting to get their siding this week. I hope we're next!

Neighbor's House

Our nice neighbors are moving if you know anyone interested! If it sells, we're hoping maybe our jerky neighbors will move. You can check out their isting here. There's also some great shots of the view.

Not too much was going on by Friday. They're starting to seal the house with some sort of, well, sealer. Hopefully, the stucco, stone and siding will be soon!

Home Theater

Joe and I went up to the house over the weekend and installed some home theater cabling. Now I should be able to easily set up the projector and speakers in the ceiling, the XBox and PS2 underneath the screen, and the stereo equipment in the closet.

Also, we installed a 2" PVC pipe that runs from the basement to the attic in case we wanted to run other cabling later.

They are still working on the septic system as well. They put in 6 small PVC pipes on a grid that stick out of the top of the mound and also, they've cut a 6" hole into the basement for the drains to go to the mound.

We are getting a little antsy however, because another house they've started is now ahead of ours. We still have yet to see any drywall either.

What was that about a hole?

We went up last night and had two surprises. One was Jess's camera could only take one picture because the battery was dead. The other was that the septic mound was in! We were expecting just a hole, but the whole thing was there. It doesn't look too big now, but they haven't covered it in dirt yet either.

Lights! Phones! TV!

The electric, telephone cable, and TV cables are completely in. The rough plumbing is entirely in, including all PVC, drains, and copper piping. The septic guy should be digging early this week, so hopefully, we'll have fill against the back of our house and a new hole for the septic.

Julie and I think we may put a half circle driveway in, connecting the two curb cutouts since they're both there already. It's less grass to cut, so I'm in favor of it.

Shortly, I'll be installing the audio/visual cables for the Media Room as well. More on that this week!

Septic a'comin!

Our builder called and told us to initiate contact with our excavator so he can start digging our septic. Also, it seems next up is the electric inspection. Julie and I won't be going up there until Thursday because we're not expecting too much this week.
