Well, Well, Well...

We met with the well guy and the excavator up at the house tonight. The well will be dug sometime this week and we think we're happy with the location.

We also walked around our lot with the excavator to decide on the final grading. He will be giving us a quote soon for some additional grading in the back as well as some premium top soil.

It's a Tile Tile Tile World

We've been up there painting away and today the tile man stopped in. He put our tile in the master bedroom bathroom, hall bath, powder room, and fireplace. He'll be up next Saturday and Sunday to finish the fireplace up and put in the kitchen and foyer.

The painting is going well, but we're exhausted. The first floor is done and most of the upstairs has one coat. I'm confident by this time next week, we'll be getting some colors up there!

We also had a visit from our builder, who told us that the stone is coming soon! Stay tuned!

More Painting and We Got Wood!

Another day and more painting. Mom and I are heading up tomorrow to finish the second coat in the kitchen. After that, it's finishing the first coat on the foyer, powder room, and then putting a second coat on the upstairs bathrooms.

A little surprise was up there also. The hardwood floors were put in. I wish they would have told us this yesterday though because we could have gotten one coat of paint on there while the plywood was there.

Painting and Backboard

4 of us went up today to get going on the painting. We need to do all the areas with tile first, so Kitchen, Foyer, Powder Room, Master Bath, and Hall Bath. After that, we pretty much can work in parellel to whatever they do.

So, we painted for 2 hours, got the Kitchen finished with one coat of primer and about 80% of the Foyer/Powder Room and 80% of the Hall Bath done.

The tile guy will be working this Sunday and next Saturday and Sunday to install the tile. Also, the doors are in the rooms that they go in, but they are not hung yet.

Loose Doors! Run! Watch out for that hole!

There's some doors in our garage waiting to be hung! There's also a box of doorknobs, the guide rail mounts, some shims, and some backboard for the tile in the garage. I'm guessing that means that we can paint the drywall soon, but they still haven't let us know. I suspect we'll be up there this weekend painting though.

The other big news is that the utility trench has been dug, but as you can see, the conduit pipe hasn't been laid yet. This means I have to call the excavator again tomorrow to find out why. I've called the utilities to let them know that they should be heading out there, but they are probably a few days out yet, so I'm not stressing.

Stucco is Done

The stucco is done! Hooray! Also, we got a all today that the excavator can proceed with digging the cable/phone/electric trench to run the cabling to the house.

Stucco'd Windows and More Spackle

For days I've been telling Julie that the stucco up there was just a base coat, but today, we saw the proof! The windows now have their color up, which is bright white. As you can see from the picture, it almost exactly matches the siding, which we are in shock about.

The other picture shows a view from our kitchen towards the family room. You can see the buckets of joint compound they used today and also where they patched up the walls. Only the first floor is done and it's only their first crack at it. There were more buckets of joint compound up on the second floor today, so hopefully that floor will be done by Friday.

Wall Tape and Garage Steps

The walls and ceilings are completely taped up together. They started spackling in the garage as you can see below. The other interesting piece that appeared was the garage steps! I thought we were going to get some 2x4s slapped together, but it's like a real set of steps!

Nothing new with the stucco. The weather has been rainy the last few days.

Let there be lighting!

Julie and I met with the lighting place last night and ordered all the lights except for the ceiling fans. We figured those we would probably just pick up at Home Depot. It could be anywhere from 2-6 weeks for the different lights to come in, so here's hoping things slow down?!? I don't think so!

Our builder doesn't think we'll need the lights that soon, but I'm really hoping they will because that means they're getting done.

Stoopy

The first picture is of the stucco getting started. We think it's a little darker because it's either a basecoat or just because it's still a little wet. More interesting, is that we finally got a front stoop!

The entire house now has drywall hanging. The joint compound is sitting in the pantry currently, so I'm guessing the rest of the week will be them doing that.

The second picture isn't anything new, but people are buzzing about our basement, so I'd thought I'd finally try to get a good picture. This is along the back of the house. Notice how the main beam lines up in the center, forming a huge room in the back. Pool room!

More Drywall!

The entire upstairs is now completed, at least with the hanging of the drywall. The first floor ceiling is finished, as well as the first floor pantry and media room. The garage section is also completed. Based on this, I think they will finish tomorrow with hanging.

The stucco hasn't gone up yet, but it's been raining a lot lately, so pray for no rain!

Metal mesh is in style!

The stucco folks got the windows framed out and the metal mesh on, so it looks like we should have stucco tomorrow. Then, there is a one week curing period, then they come back and spray it with a finish.

The other news is that almost every room on the second floor has been drywalled. The only thing left is the master bedroom and part of another bedroom. The strange thing though, is that there is no entry way into the attic. There's supposed to be, but it's not there. We'll need to investigate this further...

Almost stucco'd

The prepwork has been laid for the stucco as you can see below. Also, every room has a pile of drywall! What a surprise! The second picture is the closet in the master bedroom, which is the first drywall they've hung!

A fantastic trio of things

Well, we went up on Saturday and updated with the siding. They must be working hard up there though. We were greeted with three surprises this time. The septic system, the insulation (fully completed), and two new garage doors!

Things are definitely cooking now! We both really hope they keep up this pace!
